The toughest week for quitting coffee...

Ai yi yi! Wow! Barnacles! I have been challenged, and so far, have not succumbed to bagging my effort for quitting coffee. My entire goal is to be able to have a cup of coffee when I would like on occassion, not to be a coffee pot zombie.

I have my lovely wife Mary to thank for making it this week, without her, I would have gone over the deep end.

All of this will be chronicled in the upcoming ebook "How I Quit Coffee" to be released through http://www.howiquitcoffee.com.

If you would like to share your stuggle or success, please email us at sam@howiquitcoffee.com.

Please check http://www.howiquitcoffee.com and follow this blog at http://www.mainedjsammy.blogspot.com for the latest news.

Keep up the good work!

Yesterday was tough

Currently, I am following my own program for quitting coffee. No easy task for someone that would rather have a cup than eat.

This week is my two-cup-a-day week. I made the worst mistake ever and didn't space my cups out very well. I had one when we got up with the kids for school (around 7:15am) and it seemed like I would cease to function if I didn't have another around 10:30am. So I thought I'd be brave and have my cup then and see what happened. (I honestly thought I would not make it...) I surprised myself and did it, but man it was tough. I felt like I was quitting smoking or on a diet...I had visions of black coffee dancing in my head.

If felt great to not give in, but my wife said I was off yesterday. Off as is not catching on fire or seeming outside the family loop for a day.

Whomever came up with the phrase "What a difference a day makes" was a genius. I think it was someone's grandmother or grandfather. They always speak the good stuff.

I would love to consider your quitting coffee story for my upcoming ebook. Email me anytime at sam@howiquitcoffee.com. Keep checking the website for the grand debut sometime in 2009 at http://www.howiquitcoffee.com. Also, I welcome anyone to follow this blog or some of my others. Always, I wish you well. If I can do it, anyone can.

Yours in success,

How I Quit Coffee

Half way there to my goal of completely eliminating my dependence of coffee. It's rewarding and scary at the same time. I will be publishing an ebook of my complete experience that will soon be available at http://www.howiquitcoffee.com.

I have to keep in mind that every reward comes with some sort of price. Keep my eye on the prize as wise people always say. The phrase easier said that done also comes to mind. I ask myself, if I can complete a three day fast, why am I terrified of not having coffee?

If you are attempting to quit coffee or have a story you would like to share, please contact me at sam@howiquitcoffee.com. There may be a place in the upcoming ebook for your experience.

Today, I keep up the good fight and press ahead. I wish you a fantastic day!

Yours in success,

Sam Prindle

How I quit coffee

I am currently in process of breaking my 20 + year addiction to coffee. (The complete ebook will be available September 2009 at http://www.howiquitcoffee.com.) The thought of beginning each day without my morning cup seems foreign to me. It seems to be as natural as breathing.

I have come to the realization, that the black cups of coffee I dearly love are not doing a whole lot to keep me awake. I seem to be yawning about 45-60 minutes after I have one, and I make mine pretty strong.

Around the year 2000, I was averaging 3 pots of coffee per day. I had to have it! I was a slave to it. Since then, I have tapered off to no more than five 12oz cups per day. Definitely an improvement, but not where I want to be.

Since about 2005, I have been doing a lot of research on health, diet, and fasting. Most of my findings shun caffeine in any amount, especially when attempting a distilled water fast.

Keep checking http://www.howiquitcoffee.com for my complete program on how to eliminate coffee without a crippling headache or substituting another means of caffeine.

If you want to relay your story of how you kicked the habit, I would gladly consider including it in the upcoming book. Please email me at sam@howiquitcoffee.com.
